On Sunday, November 15, 2009, while playing at Waikoloa Village Golf Course, Mary Desisto had a hole-in-one! She had it while playing the 117-yard 12th hole in a 40-mph wind. She used a pitching wedge. She was playing in a foursome that included Gregg Havens, Randy Kutler, and Chris Kutler. Great shot Mary!!!

"PANIOLO CUP" MATCHPLAY CHAMPIONSHIP at Waikoloa Village Golf Course on January 15-17, 2010

The "PANIOLO CUP" MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP, a USGA Sanctioned Event, will be held January 15 - 17, 2010.

The most storied match play tournament in Hawaii is back at Waikoloa Village Golf Club. The tournament was established in 1974, and it has been played almost every year since its inception. Entry is open to all Amatuer Golfers. This is a gross event within qualifying flight. Net prizes will be awarded for the Friday Qualifying round.

Friday, January 15, 2010 will consist of a Qualifying round to place competitors into respective flights based on the total number of entries received. Tee Times for the Friday Qualifier will begin at 11:30am.

Saturday January 16, 2010 and Sunday January 17, 2010 will consist of all Match play leading to the winners of each flight. Matches will begin at 7:30am on Saturday with afternoon matches beginning at 1:00pm. Lunch will be provided at Spike's Waikoloa Clubhouse Restaurant between morning and afternoon matches. Matches will start at 8:00am on Sunday. Championship and Consolation Matches will begin at 1:00pm Sunday afternoon.

**ENTRY FEE OF $150.00 INCLUDES A MINIMUM OF 2 ROUNDS OF GOLF, LUNCH AT SPIKE'S WAIKOLOA CLUBHOUSE RESTAURANT ON SATURDAY, TEE GIFTS, AND PRIZES.

Volunteers Needed

Looking to be part of two exciting events here at Turtle Bay? Become a volunteer and help support golf here in Hawaii.

Turtle Bay Resort is excited to be hosting two events over the next two months. The 2009 Turtle Bay Resort College Invitational will be played November 2-4 on both the Palmer and Fazio Courses. The 30-team event features some of the best college players in the country including Hawaii's own Stephanie Kona and the University of Hawaii Men's and Women's Golf teams.

Our second event is the 2009 Turtle Bay Resort Hawaii State Open December 18-20 on both of the resort's courses. Players will include Tadd Fujikawa, Dean Wilson, the Finau Brothers, plus many other top golfers from Hawaii and beyond.

Volunteers will receive a tournament T-Shirt, Cap, Lunch each day, and for those that can assist each of the three days for the event, a complimentary round of golf on either of our courses plus a reduced rate for an additional round.
